Panama City, Panama
Jan 2, 2020
Having been in Panama six years ago, I am not exactly frantic to see the sights. Panama City itself, specifically the old city area of Casco Viejo seems more spruced up than I recall.
The sounds of restorations are a constant every waking hour. The large groups of tourists dutifully following their umbrella-waving guide seem more in number than I remember. Also new is the sight of armed military at corners of blocks in most of the old quarter. That was certainly not true the last time I visited.
But the food is just as good, the eateries and bars plentiful, the art is vibrant and the vibe, cool; it is little wonder that it is flocked by tourists.
